"Le monde est grand, mais en nous
Il est profonde comme la mer.

The world is large, but in us
it is as deep as the sea."
Rainer Maria Rilke, opening quote to Gaston Bachelard’s Intimate Immensity, in The Poetics of Space (via talisman)

"

I don’t know how to act
without imagining his
tip toeing fingers down my stomach;
or the way he looked
when I knew he wanted more.

I can’t help but look
for a room to rent in your
heart because mine
has completely burned down.

"I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are— particularly when it’s difficult. People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me. Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain (“I’m not a big one for paying compliments…”), but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."

"Before you say yes, get him angry. See him scared, see him wanting, see him sick. Stress changes a person. Find out if he drinks and if he does, get him drunk - you’ll learn more about his sober thoughts. Discover his addictions. See if he puts you in front of them. You can’t change people, baby girl. If they are made one way, it doesn’t just wear off. If you hate how he acts when he’s out of it now, you’re going to hate it much worse eight years down the road. You might love him to bits but it doesn’t change that some people just don’t fit."

This is one of the most important things I have ever read and I wish I would have come across it sooner. This is real, this is important.

Love is a series of collages that were created using pieces of over 60 store bought puzzles. Although puzzle pieces are unique, and can only fit into one place within a puzzle, they are sometimes interchangeable within a brand. These puzzles were cut using the same die, but depict unrelated images.
